RSV infection estimates in each sub-region of Africa were statistically different (P < 01)

There were no statistically significant differences in RSV infections by designs, specimen types, and specimen conditions, despite them contributing to heterogeneity. CONCLUSIONS: We found a high prevalence of RSV in pediatric populations with acute respiratory tract illnesses in Africa, highlighting that the prevention and control of RSV infections in children deserve more attention. Form (available upon request from the corresponding author) and declare no across laboratory animal model species. A growing number of pharmaceutical and small molecule interventions are reported to extend the lifespan of laboratory animals including Caenorhabditis, Drosophila, and mouse. However, the degree to which these pro-longevity interventions are conserved across species is unclear. Here, we took two approaches to ask the question: to what extent do longevity intervention studies in Caenorhabditis and Drosophila recapitulate effects on mouse lifespan? The first approach analyzes all published reports on longevity in the literature collated by the DrugAge database, and the second approach focused on results designed for reproducibility as reported from the NIA-supported Interventions Testing Program (ITP) and the Caenorhabditis Interventions Testing Program (CITP). Using published data sources, we identify only modest sensitivity and specificity of Drosophila interventional studies for identifying pro-longevity compounds in mouse lifespan studies. Surprisingly, reported studies in C. elegans show little predictive value for identifying drugs that extend lifespan in mice. The results therefore suggest caution should be used when making assumptions about the translatability of lifespan-extending compounds across species, US; foreign copyright protection may apply. PURPOSE: To provide an up-to-date review of the epidemiology, histopathology, molecular biology, and etiology of spinal meningiomas, as well as discuss the clinical presentation, clinical evaluation, and most recent treatment recommendations for these lesions. METHODS: PubMed and Google Scholar search was performed for studies related to meningiomas of the spine. The terms meningioma, spinal meningioma, spine meningioma, meningioma of the spine, benign spinal tumors, and benign spine tumors, were used to identify relevant studies. All studies, including primary data papers, meta-analyses, systematic reviews, general reviews, case reports, and clinical trials were considered for review. RESULTS: Eighty-four studies were identified in the review. There were 22 studies discussing adverse postoperative outcomes, 21 studies discussing tumor genetics, 19 studies discussing epidemiology and current literature, 9 studies discussing radiation modalities and impact on subsequent tumor development, 5 studies on characteristic imaging findings, 5 studies discussing hormone use/receptor status on tumor development, 2 discussing operative techniques and 1 discussing tumor identification. CONCLUSION: Investigations into spinal meningiomas generally lag behind that of intracranial meningiomas. Recent advancements in the molecular profiling of spinal meningiomas has expanded our understanding of these tumors, increasing our appreciation for their heterogeneity. Continued investigation into the defining characteristics of different spinal meningiomas will aid in treatment planning and prognostication. Mature T-cell and NK-cell lymphomas are a heterogeneous group of rare and typically aggressive neoplasms. Diagnosis and subclassification have historically relied primarily on the integration of clinical, histologic, and immunophenotypic features, which often overlap. The widespread application of a variety of genomic techniques in recent years has provided extensive insight into the pathobiology of these diseases, allowing for more precise diagnostic classification, improved prognostication, and development of novel therapies. In this review, we summarize the genomic features of the most common types of mature T-cell and NK-cell lymphomas with a particular focus on the contribution of genomics to biologic insight, classification, risk stratification, and select therapies in the context of the recently published International Consensus and updated World Health Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY, 10065, Medulloblastoma, neuroblastoma, and pediatric glioma account for almost 30% of all cases of pediatric cancers. Recent evidence indicates that pediatric nervous system tumors originate from stem or progenitor cells and present a subpopulation of cells with highly tumorigenic and stem cell-like features. These cancer stem cells play a role in initiation, progression, and resistance to treatment of pediatric nervous system tumors. Order now , DNA methylation, chromatin remodeling, and microRNA regulation display a range of regulatory activities involved in cancer origin and progression, and cellular identity, especially those associated with stem cell features, such as self-renewal and pluripotent differentiation potential.
